Back pain can be worse than any other pain. It affects every aspect of your life, from walking up ten flights of stairs to being able to sit comfortably on a sofa and watch television. Sometimes back pain can be so severe it may hurt just to turn to the side. While there are lots of medications you may wish to try something more natural so it won’t interfere with other medications you might already be on or mess up your system’s natural functioning. The following are some tips on how to relieve your back pain.
Wear a corset
There are back corsets that support your back muscles and position them correctly so the muscles and joints are stacked correctly on top of one another. The corset should only be used for part of the day so you don’t become completely dependent on the corset which would actually end up weakening the muscles. Short term daily use of the corset will help you learn how to use your back muscles the right way so they can heal.
Use a heating pad
Apply a heating pad to the sore areas on a daily basis for fifteen to thirty minutes at a time. Don’t use for more than an two hours each day. The heat will help relieve tension and help you move more freely without pain.
Sit in a supportive chair
Choose to sit only in a strong chair with a firm back that stands completely upright. If it hurts at first start in short intervals of fifteen minutes and then slowly increase each interval as the pain begins to ease and your back strengthens.
Lose weight
If you’re overweight or have a belly that could be part of your problem. Lose some weight and you’ll relieve pressure from your back making every activity easier and less painful.
